Curently working part time without coverage. I think health insurance should be as affordable as auto insurance an should be up to the private citizens to purchase their own insurance and up to the government to work with the health care industry and insurance providers to provide such affordable coverage.
Thanks
My wife is self employed with a heart condition, try finding coverage.
With a 2500 deductible..my six hour visit to the ER is costing me 2,000. What's the point of having insurance if the costs is still too high and copays are almost as much as the cost of a visit to the doctor. What a racket the insurance industry is...
yes health care is too expensive.we need reform now.
Good Luck with the health care changes that you are working hard to see come true. I support you 100% of the way!
I was diagosed with a "Parkinsons-like" disease almost 8 years ago. No true diagnosis has been made yet but hopefully, with your stem cell reasearch agenda, that will happen eventually.
One of the many tests that I had to undergo was a blood test. My first Neurologist, before falling out the "network" asked that I have it done. Blue Cross (my carrier) kept changing their mind about whether it would be... (more)

I have a government employee plan but I still need $5000.00 per year just for co-payments for doctor office visits and medications.
My best friend of 3 years has been suffering from lupus since 2005. Before she became sick, her mother could not afford health insurance for both of her children. So when her daughter was diagnosed with this disease, she is now uneligable for health insurance because of the fact that she is not healthy in the first place. In my opinion, this shows how healthcare costs are too high for american families, and it shows the insufficient choice of health care providers that my friend is allowed to see. She is discriminated for the very reason she... (more)
I spent six hours in a local hospital and now they want me to pay them $28,890.00. For six hours, I told then they where nuts!!
HEALTH CARE IS ESSENTIAL FOR OUR OUR COUNTRY. IN FACT, IT SUPPORTS OUR CONSTITUTION TO "PROMOTE THE GENERAL WELFARE" AND "SECURE THE BLESSINGS OF LIBERTY. ENSURE QUALITY CARE SUPPORTS THIS DOCTRINE OF LIFE LIBERTY AND PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS. PURSUING ANTHING IS DIFFICULT WHEN HEALTH CARE IS AN HINDRANCE AND FAMILY ISSUE.
AS LINCOLN DECLARED "A HOUSE DIVIDED CANNOT STAND" HEALTH CARE DIVIDES THIS GREAT NATION.

I have been without health care for over five years. I am self-employed and can not at this time offer it to my employees either. Universal health care if enacted would allow me to be more competitive in my hiring with other similar larger companies.
Where to start: Ok how about in February I had to go to the emergency room, no insurance at all. Well they put me in, double pneumonia, after getting no better with 4 days of treatment, they did a lung scan and discovered a blood clot in my left lung. I ended up spending a week in there, 42000 dollar bill. How do I pay that? Not just that, we finally got insurance thru my husbands new job and had to take the cheapest plan which covers hardly nothing, it went into effect 2 months after the hospital stay. It will do me no good to have it though... (more)
I just think it's a very scary thing knowing that a person, a human being, could be denied care because they do not have insurance or cannot afford to pay for a doctor's visit up front. I called a doctor's office because I was sick and over the phone the receptionist wanted to know where I worked, my work number, my insurance information, and I was so taken aback because I wondered what if I didn't have a job? Would she have turned me away or even hung up the phone in my face? I fortunately do have insurance, but for the many individuals... (more)
My story is to long to tell. But I have seen way to many kids and adults neglect their health simply because they or their parents could not afford the proper treatment. We need to stop letting big business decide what is good for the general public. Simply because their greed controls their decisions. It is about time that we have a President who cares more about what the core, the very people, who actually work every day and give a lot of sweat to keeping this nation running, so the rich people can sit back and live high on life while... I have a dear relative who is on disability because he needs a fourth hip replacement operation and cannot afford it (both hips have had to be replaced). He must wait two years to get Medicaid insurance for his operation. Meanwhile he is in chronic pain and is dangerously unstable on his feet. If he could get the operation NOW he would be back on his feet and paying taxes again in 6 months! Instead he must stay on disability for 2 years before he is eligible for Medicaid insurance. How smart is that? How humane is that?
Healthcare is important for new mothers, young adults, and elderly, all Americans. Personally, in 2002, my first granddaughter died due to lack of quality health care. My son was a college student and my granddaughter was born premature she died three weeks later.
My 87-year old mother has Medicare and Tri Care. However, she can't attain help for a nursing home because they use Medicaid. In order for her to receive Medicaid, she has to sign over her savings, stocks, and bonds to Medicaid.
I'm a vet middle age, owning a failing small business. I have two family members that will be out of work for two or more months with health problems.
