I've broken my leg because my landlord removed a safety rail from a set of steps. I'm one of the very few lucky American citizens to be insured, however, because of the circumstance the hospitals and doctors are refusing to honor my insurance. Instead I'm filing a lawsuit against my landlord in hopes that he has insurance. Meanwhile, I'm stuck at my house out of work and out of money to pay for day to day living expenses while the doctors tell me that I have to come up with a $6000 dollar down payment before they will see me. So much for the idea that more insurance will correct the problems. If the price tag wasn't bad enough, the fact that my leg is still broken and I was sent home with a simple brace that is held in place by Velcro is shameful. I will, however, make the best of this situation. I will overcome.
