My 7 year old son has had 4 open heart surgeries. He has a mechanical valve and a pacemaker. He only has one lung that functions. He will require additional surgeries in the future. I am scared of healthcare reform - our HMO paid for 100% of his surgeries and his health care was excellent. Our premiums are well worth the price - without our HMO and the American healthcare system my son would not be alive today.
