I actualy have two stories to tell.

The first one is in regard of my daughter Lisa Gay Bran that passed away 4 years ago. Lisa lived in tennessee and had waited till she was 35 to enjoy the pleasures of mother hood. The little blessing from God came on 5 September 2000 and lisa name her Ashley. On September 0f 2004, Lisa was diagnosed with cancer. She underwent a complete hysterectomy and the growth was supposebly removed. Due to the fact that she did not have insurance, she was discharged quickly and received only limited kemo. The cancer regrew but she was denied further treatments, and on May 12 2005, Lisa passed away leaving her 4year old daughter behind. At time of her passing she weighted 47 pounds.

Story #2 is my story, which is in complete contrast of my daughter lisa.
I am retird from the Army, 23 years 7 months and 23 days, so i have the benefit of TriCare. I also work as a Safety and Security Manager for a large Corporation in Panama City Beach Florida. Throught the corporation i am coveredby Blue Cross and Blue shield. Last friday, while I work, I felt a little desoriented and could not maintain my balance. I was taken to the emergency room and received a EKG, EEG and chest X.ray. When i asked why was I getting a chest X.ray, I was enfoemed that uit was standard practice to Xray all admitted patients. I was then taken to an Cat Scan and shortly there aftrer admitted to a "Private" Room at Bay County Medical center. During the next day (Saturday) I was submitted to a barrage of Blood and Urine tests and Analisis. On Monday I had an M.R.I of my brain and a Sonogram of my Neck. I was informed that they had notice several spots on brain during the Cat Scan, the reason for the MRI. I was placed on medication for my headache and also received the daily meds I take on a regular basis. I was then seen by an neurologist, and Physical therapist and then given aspecial drug that was to protect my kidneys for my second MRI. This one been with contrast. Tuesday Morning I was informed that the Second MRI Had been cancelled and rescheduled as an outpatient MRI. My Girlfriend (Former Nurse) got very upset and asked them what was my diagnosis, why was I still in the Hospital if further test were not scheduled. I was released later that morning and still have not received a clear answer as to what caused all this other than "A possible Stroke" when I further inquired as to why all the tests and visitations from other doctors while in the hospital? The answer was murmured from a former staff member visiting me "You got the Blue Card". Is this realy the reason. IO have Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Tri-care so the hospital is going to make money on me by charging all these unecessary test, Xrays etc?
My daughter was refused treatment because she did not have insurance and I was given all king of expensive test because I had the "Blue Card"? Is that what our Medical system has gone to?

Mr. president OBAMA, Please fix this mess. Let's insure that all americans get fair and needed treatment regardles wether they have "The Blue Card" or not and do stop hospital for programing unecessay tests at the expense of the Insurer and Insuree.
Thank you for caring.
